Subject:         heavy period and 80 10 10

Dr. Graham. I have posted a few times here and been on 80 10 10 since April 2012. I really feel different and so glad to learn about 80 10 10. I am a 54 years old woman, had always had regular period (25-27 days cycle, last 5-7 days). I never had children. I have always loved being physically active and exercise every day. My health is good. For the first time in Sep and Oct 2012, I skipped my periods and then since Nov. I have been having periods for 3-4 weeks with 7- 10 days break in between. Some days bleeding a lot. I don’t have any other menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, cold/night sweat, mood swings, headaches, etc.). I had a physical check up in Nov with no issues. My doctor said “well you are going through changes.” (Which I feel like saying yes, I know that). I feel like I need to take supplements (such as multi-vitamin – B6, calcium, magnesium, zinc, etc. to promote progesterone) for heavy bleeding. Having been brought up in Jana, I had always eaten soy before I started on 80 10 10 and much is written about Japanese women and ease of menopausal phases because of their soy consumption. Soy, eaten as whole (not isoflavones as isolated substance) seem to show to work balancing hormones in some of the population based studies. I feel like taking multi-vitamin and edamame soy beans. I don’t read much about 80 10 10 and menopause so can you give me your thoughts on heavy bleeding? Thank you.
