Subject:         Scared! - Raw Fears

In reading 80/10/10, it seems like a lot of raw vegans found the fruit/fat issue
to be that missing link to helping them stay raw. It sounds like me too! I'm just
really hesitant to dive back into 100% raw. Sure, I could do it gradually...but I
may not make it "there" -- the cooked outweighing or negating the raw. I'm
vegetarian now btw and have been for seven years, except for the short stints in
raw veganhood. = )

Then, I have all these other things in my head like...I may do the 811 for a few
months, but then bounce back to cooked. I know from experience how painful
and disturbing to the system that is. I've been "bouncing around" for the last
three years, and I can't keep doing that as I get older. So I'm quite nervous about
purifying my system only to fail again. That's probably my biggest concern. Or
what if I'm 811 and in a situation where there's no raw available (or just a bunch
of unripe raw) or I'm stuck somewhere or I'm super stressed or maybe I just can't
bring myself to eat another raw food...then it's like all my efforts go down the
drain.

In the past, I'd just get tired of raw and just want the warmth or texture of a
cooked something. Or maybe I'd get frustrated with prep, even if it's simply
washing and cutting...not even gourmet, and want something more convenient.

And so...I feel quite conflicted. I'm not sure what else needs to click in my mind
to go for it and make it a lifestyle. Maybe it's just not for me, but then, why do I
keep coming back to it? The vegetarian thing came quite easily to me and is still
easy -- I don't think twice about it nor was I even trying to be one at the time; I
feel far more of a struggle with raw. Grr...

If you have any tips or encouragement to share, that would be lovely. Thank
