below is a link about dark circles under your eyes that seems pretty good for a mainstream site. Summary:
1) eat watermelon, celery and cucumber
2) eliminate junk food
3) limit alcohol consumption
4) restrict intake of salty foods

And I love this:
"Placing cold cucumber slices on your eyes to reduce dark circles may work short-term, but Gross and Kagan recommend eating several slices of cucumber to have more long-term effects."
