Subject:         Doug - Your thoughts on vitreous humour shrinkage
Date: November 29, 2012 at 11:00 am PST

The medical community maintains that vitreous humour shrinkage occurs as we age & the vitreous eventually separates from the retina (posterior vitreous detachment) & that we all will, sooner or later, experience PVD although it can, for some go undetected. Do you agree that the shrinkage itself & subsequent detachment is a natural phenomenon or is it simply a reflection of our collective poor state of health?

(PVD can produce retinal tears, significantly raising the risk of retinal detachment.)

Many thanks,
