Essentially, you are being asked to cast a vote supporting one of two totally divergent thought processes. There is no possibility of a "best of both worlds" scenario.
My advice is to throw your hat totally in to the 811 camp, and see how you do. I expect you will be just fine. If it turns out that you are not thrilled with your 811 experience, you can always go back to your old program.
