Subject:         SAD, weight gain and disordered eating.

Hello Dr. Graham, my brother is not vain, gluttonous, an emotional eater, or
obsessed with self-image, but he knows that it's unhealthy to be
overweight/obese. He eats a SAD diet of moderate proportions. If he regularly
eats until he's full, he becomes obese within weeks. He then restricts calorie
intake and goes hungry on SAD until he becomes a healthy weight and then the
cycle of gaining and losing weight continues. I always eat until I'm full or very
full on 811rv and never gain weight. When I explained 811rv to my brother, he
seemed excited by the fact he could always eat until he was full, but found it
hard to believe. Are SAD diets simply geared towards weight gain? If someone
wants to eat SAD and have a healthy weight, do they necessarily need to restrict
calories and go hungry and continue to eat less as they age? Secondly, do SAD
diets tend to lead to disordered eating because they encourage weight gain?
Thank you kindly,
