Hi.

I've read Nutrition And Athletic Performance where you talk about using up your muscle sugar through exercise and then going on to blood sugar reserves and then hitting the wall/ running on fat.

I was wondering if it worked the same when you are not exercising.

If you were fully topped up in blood/muscle glucose, but you were just having a fairly easy rest day of just walking around, standing, sitting, etc, then would you still be drawing primarily off muscle sugar reserves first, and then run off the blood sugar?

Some other pattern?

I may be misquoting, but I vaguely remember you saying somewhere that we had roughly 2,500 calories worth of fuel in our muscles or overall system.

If our basal metabolic rate is 2,000 but we were just moving around casually, would we be drawing this from muscle sugar or blood sugar?

So if we spent half a day not eating before we exercised, would we have used up much of the fuel we would have needed to exercise at our best?

Thanks.
