Hello there!

Actually the "flavor savor" tomato is no longer on the shelves. When they first arrive in the 90's, Monsanto thought that labeling said tomato as genetically modified would increase sales because of the hoped for appeal brought on by food + science + new. However, it didn't happen and the entire tomato was a flop (I believe that consumers didn't like the taste). Instead of moving on from there, Monsanto actually rebranded the same product with a different name and completely truncated labeling from its marketing plan (as we can see today).

But as Doug recommends, keep it organic. I think tomatoes usually make the dirty dozen (most chemically treated fruits/vegetables).
