Subject:         Persimmons and nausea

Dear Dr Graham,
I have a problem with persimmons, even if they are my
favourite fruits and I can't understand the reason.

Here in Italy now we're in full season for persimmons (the
soft variety, I think is called Japanese or Kaki persimmon in
North America) and I love to make mono meals of them for lunch
or after workout.

I usually eat between 10 to 15 fruits (about 1,5Kgs net
weight) in a single meal and I feel totally satisfied, but
after one hour I start to feel very nauseated, with dry mouth,
lethargic and sometimes thirsty, but I don't want to drink
water because it makes my nausea worse.

At that point, eating some salty food seems to be the only
thing that gives me releif.

I don't have these problems if I eat small quantity, like 2/4
fruits, but only if I make a full meal of them.
I also have no problems with full meals of other fruits like
pineapple, oranges, watermelon, papaya, banana, grape, ecc.

I always eat my persimmons at empty stomach as the first meal
of the day.

I noticed that even if I'm well hydrated, after persimmons
meal I don't pee as usual but only some hours later, and not
very clear.

Why I feel this way Dr. Graham?
I love persimmons and I want to keep eating them.

Thank you in advance for your kind answer

Augusto
