Unfortunately, where we live, lettuce greens cultivated naturally are available only at early summer, later only those in glasshouses or under foils. As far as I know, these greens accumulate chemicals and nitrate, even the organic ones. Other greens, like spinach, swiss chard, kale are available during the whole year, they are frost resistant, I have them in my garden too, but these are not recommended, because of their high oxalate content. Which is the good choise then? I have in my garden wild greens too: dandelion, chickweed, stinging nettle. Can I eat these, when there are not lettuce greens available? What about sprouts? Are they high in oxalate too? How much can I eat of these/ day? Thanks a lot for your answer! Jane
