Thanks for the kind words. I am so glad you both have had positive
responses to the 811 plan and that you are open to different ways
of thinking and to trying new things which aren't necessarily
understood by society.
I am new at it, and am excited as I delve into it.
I wish I could get my parents, family, friends, and others to be even
the slightest bit open to a different way of living and eating than
they are, but so far it is impossible. As soon as they even get a
whiff that I am going to talk about nutrition, or eating habits, or if I
bring my own food, or food to be shared at a get together,
everyone will give me the terrified "weird eyes", and try not to sit
next to me or engage in any sort of conversation. It is the oddest
thing. And I am not the type of person to Lord my beliefs on a Soap
Box.
People are always much more open minded and accessible to
people they don't know, and will listen and take their info in.
I am not trying to arm twistingly change anyone, just trying to get
others to be more open to other ways of thinking. It is never
accepted, by anyone I am around.
Oh well, sickness and plain unhealthiness abounds. Then again, I
don't have anything to show for my way 8 year journey of eating or
living either, so.......
I know we just have to let others come to things, however they do,
but to see Parents be so closed off, especially after fighting health
issues most of their life, and have something as basic as eating and
nutrition considered to be not at all connected, is unsettling. And
they are Very Intelligent people! Just not as open as I would hope.
Well, it is their life, but as someone who grew up listening to them
and being open, I thought I learned to be open to things from
them, I guess I am just born with it, and it is something unique to
me.
