Dr D, I guess i failed in conveying my question right. I had heard of Dr. Vetrano but knew absolutely nothing. I just for some reason connected her with natural hygiene. I had some time to spend reading yesterday and found her book in Kindle and thought "oh fruitarianism - that'd be good". But I was shocked when I read the book. It wasn't that it did not agree with me personally. It was that it seemed in ways kinda opposite to Fruitarianism. I was thinking she was going to steer people to eat more vegetables. But her thrust in the book was eating more and more nuts/seeds. Which eating nuts and seeds is fine. But she was calling them high protein foods (which they do have protein) but they are a high fat food.
Have you read the book Genuine Fruitarianism?
The intro stated that her book "There is so much mis-information being disseminated faster today than it was when T C Fry spread his misinformation". That concerned me right off. Not that TC Fry was perfect, I'm sure. But a red flag went up in my mind.
the book talks about people getting protein deficiencies. I found the book really disparging to eat high fruit diet. She was stating about getting higher amount of protein and in the book I read something to the effect of 30% protein. I was like "whoa". I guess with all the new information out (China study etc) we know that protein deficiencies are not found in populations that consume enough food/calories. In fact we now know the dangers of over-consumption of protein.
I was not at all trying to put her down. I was trying to figure out if I got the wrong impression that she was a Natural Hygiene educator. I do not know this woman at all. I connected her with NH and then reading her book, I wanted to know who she was and if she was for or against NH. I guess my question did not convey what I wanted and I was frustrated for buying the book as I thought it was going to endorse a High fruit diet and instead it kinda disparaged the idea. Which is okay, she can hold whatever opinion she wants. I just wanted to know who she was and if I mis-connected her with NH. Does that make sense. Please know I was not putting her down. I'm sorry if I was wrong in the way I stated my concerns/question.
