I often get cases of bananas for $5, meaning if bananas are my staple, and I ate 9 cases a month, it would only cost $45, leaving another $155 for other foods. Maybe half of the remainder, or more depending upon the season, would be needed for veggies. This still leaves you a couple bucks per day for specialty fruits.
