| | Subject: | Is such a huge variety of fruits necessary? | |

I'm living in quite cold climate (Poland, North Europe). The seasonal fruits are available only during few months a year (now we have mainly: apples, grapes, pears and plums). Some imported fruits are also accessible like bannanas, oranges, avocados, grapefruits, mangos etc. but these are very expensive and I can't manage to eat them all in recommended quantities. I'm curious if it could be possible to have the daily menus more simple, for example: bannanas and apples as a main staple and some seasonal fruits as addition. The exotic fruits like avocado, mango (they are unripe and untasty here), papaya (I even don't know the taste of it), pinneaples etc. would be eaten only sporadically on some special occasions. The greens are also questionable because during winter time I have no organic sources of such food as lettuce or spinach - all of it is full of pesticides and is overfertilized. Celery is imported. In fact there is no other options in winter except my own small culture of various sprouts. Is cabbage a green food? - it is available and delicious all the time. Please advise me because this diet helps me a lot with my digestive problems and I want to continue it all year round, not only in summer and autumn time. Kind regards, Kinga
