I have the same issues on and off. I get a very sore mouth and ulcers
mainly on my upper pallet. It almost always is set off by a dramatic
drop in my thyroid. I have a fluctuating thyroid. it is up and down and
normal in a cascade of variance. Stress is THE main contributing
factor.
I had tests done over and over when I was a kid which showed this
bizarre variance. Doctors were baffled. But it has followed me all
through life. I can feel when my thyroid crashes and almost every time
I will get mouth sores right after.
Also, if any bad sugars (I am not talking about fruit sugars) are added
at the same time this happens, and teeth brushing isn't kept up with,
mouth reacts and the ulcers appear.
I really think the main connection is the thyroid and stress. There are
all kinds of stress, and they affect the thyroid more than anything,
which can then be seen in the mouth. There are also all kinds of
reactions to stress by individual people. I am HIGHLY reactive to
stressors which set off my Adrenal fight or flight, which follows by
having my Hypo Thyroid crash and usually I will get the mouth ulcers
soon after.
Sometimes I am long winded, sorry about that. Hope some of it makes
sense.
