I have been doing 80/10/10 raw vegan with the occasional
cooked vegan meal for over 3 months and I am currently
having some issues. About a month and a half into doing
80/10/10, I started experiencing itching all over my body.
I felt like I had bugs crawling all over me. After about a
week the itching went away, but came back about 2 weeks
later followed by a yeast infection. The yeast infection
cleared up on it's own in about a week and a half. Well,
last week another yeast infection popped up along with more
itchy skin. Last Friday my skin stopped itching, but I
still have the yeast infection. I have not treated the
yeast infection in the hopes that it will soon clear up.
Last night my skin started itching all over again and has
been itchy all day. I AM MISERABLE! I don't know what to
do and I don't know of anyone that can help me. I talked to
my chiropractor today who also practices natural Chinese
Medicine and he suggested that my gallbladder or ileocecal
valve could be the cause of the itching. He was saying that
my gallbladder is congested and that my ileocecal valve
seems to be inflamed and both of these issues can cause
itchy skin. Apparently, he was able tell by touching
certain pressure points on my body. I'm not sure how
accurate his is or if he is even right. All I know is that
I'm miserable right now with itchy skin and multiple yeast
infections.

Here is a little bit of my background. I found out earlier
this year that I have an overgrowth of candida in my body
and I think I have unknowingly been dealing with this for 10
years or more. One of the reasons why I started 80/10/10 is
because I wanted to get my candida issue under control. I
found out last year that I have an underactive thyroid,
which I have been healing through diet alone. I am also
hypoglycemic, so I've been told. I also have a history of
allergies, but have been able to get that under control due
to taking gluten, soy and all animal products out of my
diet.

Here is an example of what I typically eat on a daily basis.
Breakfast will consist of 6-7 mangos, lunch is 7-9 bananas
and dinner will be 4-5 apples followed by a head of lettuce
with cut-up veggies, such as cucumbers, tomatoes and bell
peppers. I do mostly mono-fruit meals and sometimes have
mono-fruit days. I might eat overt fats 1-2 times per week,
but have went 3 weeks without any overt fats at all. I find
that I have a hard time digesting fats. At first I thought
that since I was eating so many bananas that maybe I had a
sensitivity to them, so I cut back...However,cutting back
bananas hasn't changed things.

I have done some research about yeast die-off symptoms and
yeast infections and itchy skin are some of the symptoms,
but this keeps lingering. Is it supposed to? If so, how
long will I continue to experience the itchy skin and yeast
infections? I never had itchy skin before starting 80/10/10
...However, I did get yeast infections easily and often felt
that yeasty feeling.

Please understand that I am not in any way, shape or form
bad mouthing the 80/10/10 lifestyle. I truly feel it's the
way I should be living and have experienced amazing results
with the exception of the itchy skin and yeast infections.
I have even wondered if I need to see a doctor, but I don't
want to. All they will try to do is put me on medications
and tell me I need more protein. LOL Dr. Graham, is there
any information you can give me as to why I'm experiencing
these issues and what I can do to help relieve them? I'm
miserable! :(
