Thank you for your response Dr Graham. You're right, it is a complex
issue. Do we try to let pets survive without optimum nutrition
because we don't want to exploit other animals for their meat? Do
you mean to say that the ethical considerations of buying meat are
more important than optimum nutrition for pets? Is the most natural
diet only ideal for humans because naturally we don't need to exploit
animals to do it? I agree, cats don't do well as vegans, they can end
up with kidney failure and die a very painful death. I agree about
buying, as animals aren't property. If an animal is to live in captivity,
should they not eat their natural diet? I would apply your arguments
about human nutrition and natural diets to animals. Then there's
eco-system considerations, look what happened with wolf
reintroduction in the Blue Range Wilderness, Apache-Sitgreaves
National Forest and Yellowstone. Thanks again,
