Certainly you wouldn't want to live on a pineapple island that wasn't excellent pineapple. Really good ones just aren't so acidic. Lemons? Well, they're barely what I think of when I think of acid fruit. But your question was about citrus. I sure think a tangerine island would be wonderful, as would a berry island. Carie mangoes are an acid fruit that I would happy live on. I'm not sure the generalizations made by your fruitarian friends are all that accurate. No, I wouldn't want to live on grapefruit island, but I think I could survive it for a week now and then. Typically, I eat acid fruits 300 or more times per year, and can detect no ill effects from doing so.
