Thanks Dr. Graham, I was hoping you'd point to some objective medical study, but your anecdotal observances are still worth something. I read in published studies that the MCT's in coconut oil are metabolized differently without interfering in the sugar delivery system to cells. Rather they are rapidly absorbed in the intestine and sent by portal vein to the liver where they are easily and efficiently converted into energy. As I understand it, glucose is used to make ATP and so are the MCTs in coconut oil. I agree that simple carbs should be the majority, but I'm still wondering what medical evidence is there that coconut oil, rich in MCTs, slows down energy production? Thanks much, Dan
