Heidi, I have never felt left out. When I do go out with folks who eat differently, it is mainly for socialization. I have never had a problem doing that while eating low fat raw vegan. If I'm going out with someone that doesn't know me, I normally get a few questions at the start of the conversation from curious folks. Regardless, truth is that I'm normally feeling too comfortable doing whatever it is I'm doing (eating fruit, veggies) to feel uncomfortable (ex: feeling left out). Actually, I used to feel left out before I started eating all raw (about a decade ago)...back when I used to eat a largely cooked vegetarian diet. Back then, the smell of others' foods bothered & distracted me quite a bit. Now, I feel like I'm in a capsule with no effort to feel that way from my end. I always carry some fruit as backup (or as a first course) but I'm almost always able to buy at least a salad since most places serve salad. If it is self serve, it is easy work. If not, I tell them what I want. Whatever works for the occasion. All the best, Sridhar
