| Subject: | Dr D - headaches/water consumption |

Hi Dr D, I had coaching with you earlier this year. You
identified that I was drinking excessive/unnecessary amounts
of water (10-12 L/day), and implied that it was "all in my
head" (not your words, but you said I should "limit the amount
I drink"). I protested that if I did so I cannot eat nor
sleep, which is still the case and has been for many years. I
can be really hungry but have no appetite because I am
thirsty, likewise if I sleep without sufficient hydration, I
am frequently awakened with a dry throat and urgent desire for
water.
Also I get very frequent headaches with thirst, which I feel
respond to plenty of water; but I am 55 and not sure if that
is just menopausal stuff, or a real increased need for water.
I seldom had headaches until about 3 years ago.
Through observation, I notice I can drastically reduce my
water consumption - if I do not eat! Exercise of course
generates thirst, but the instant I have food in my mouth, I
feel dry again. I do drink as much as I feel like, before
meals.
I am 99% raw, maybe eat one cooked item once a week if that.
I sleep 9hrs at least, and often feel I need more. Again, a
new symptom in the last few years, previously I was fine with
8.
I have now been 2 years almost fully raw, maybe 90% 1.5 years
prior to that. I would NEVER leave 811, nor an almost totally
raw diet. I do not (now) expect to get back to the energy
levels of my 40s. I am healing, and can see signs. I was
hoping the diet would help more with energy levels and I would
be free of these chronic headaches and anxiety as to whether I
can deal with small variations to routine.
So having grumped, please tell me if trying to force my water
intake down would help the headaches?
