Why not have her try going on the diet for a week or two?

Since you / she are trying to figure out if it will work, how well it will
work, trying it will give you the best answer.

No matter what it isn't going to hurt her. She will still be getting fluid
with the 80/10/10, she will still be taking in food and calories.

People can go a week without food and not be hurt. It isn't a gamble,
it is an adventure. If it helps, awesome! If she doesn't have all the
results she wants, but doesn't have any bad effects, she can decide to
continue if she wants at that point.

I really don't think Dr. G is going to be able to give you a For Sure
answer without having an in depth conversation with your friend, and
finding out all about her health, her full diet, her background, etc. Not
something he can just make broad sweeping answers for.

So, it is the easiest way to eat in the world. Give it a try. Fresh fruit
mostly, a few fresh veggies occasionally, and a tiny bit of nuts or other
fat once every couple days to week.

Simple.

I think that would be the best answer for her.
