Have you read The 80/10/10 Diet? Yes, young bodies work better than old bodies, they have higher vitality. It takes a lot to wear a young person down into an old person. Most of what it takes is abuse. Fat is necessary for infants. The hormones delivered in mother's milk are carried in her fat. The masses of calories required are best served up as fat, since an infant doesn't have the physical room for fiber or more carbs than necessary for healthy metabolism of that fat. Babies are passive, hence they don't require carbs for fuel, only the carbs necessary to break down fat. That's nature's plan. As for your "only way it would be true" assumption, I disagree strongly. It may be the only way you can see it at the moment, but I can think of many ways that it could be true. At least one of them is indeed true. Nature planned it that way, and Nature planned it that as adults, we would earn our food through physical activity and then chew our fruit, rather than effortlessly suck and swallow mother's milk.
