That's a lot of questions. Questions are good, but I'd have to write a book to comprehensively answer all those, but here are some short answers: Healthful living is always the best option. Yes, fasting helps improve absorption. Your body produces it's own B-12, well, technically, bacteria that live in your body. Stress reduces absorption, usually, and exercise helps with reduce stress. Soil depletion is not an issue as regards your line of questioning. Symptoms occur when the deficiency becomes sufficiently extreme. I don't know if you have B12 deficiency. If you want to know, take a supplement for a few days. You will know if B12 is the issue in a matter of days.
