So I have a couple questions about the reality of 80/10/10.
I can't believe no one brings this up.
I find it mind boggling how to keep all this fruit. How exactly does someone eat
10-30 bananas a day, every day? (along with a ton more fruit)
There are a few problems with this.
1. Enormous storage space is needed for a weeks worth of food. or
2. Daily shopping for all your fruits
3. Huge bills for an enormous amount of fresh fruits and veggies
4. how to keep it from going bad if you buy bulk
Now I know that the cost isn't exactly as outrageous as it seems, when I factor in
that 1. no supplements are being bought anymore, 2. no packaged food is
bought, 3. no fast food or restaurant food is bought, and the list goes on and
on.
I get that while eating this much fruit a day makes it seem like it is incredibly
expensive, if you add up all the other things you used to buy that you don't now,
and your only cost is the fruits and veggies, it is probably cheap.
Which brings me to the bigger issue.
Why does no one talk about just HOW you go about having enough on hand to
eat each day? I have been doing 80/10/10 for a bit and shopping all the time.
True I don't live in SoCal, but in the Northwest, so we don't have fruit trees out
the front door (aside from apple) and they don't produce all year round.
But am I missing something on how to buy, store and have enough on hand for
even 2 days of eating? 2,500 to 3,000 calories a day in fruit and some veggies is
an enormous amount in size and space and bulk.
Is it really not that hard for everyone else to figure out how to buy, store or have
that much fruit on hand at all times?
