I'm 50, Heidi. Actually I have attended some seminars and some private sessions with Esther van der Werf, the trainer of visionsofjoy.com

According to her, vision is not genetic at all but it is a result of a few other factors, one is nutrition but the most important factor is behavior. Most of us learn the wrong behavior from our parents or from other people who have bad seeing habits. If we can unlearn the poor seeing habits and learn the good ones most of us will improve our vision. I already have seen some slight improvement just by trying some of the suggested activities in the Bates book. Once I have more time and I stop working on a computer every day I will hopefully regain some of the lost distance vision.
