It's not even payday but I'm going to put my 2 cents in.

There is a woman here where I work who is extremely obese. She has chachkas all over her cubicle from M&M's, and many other candy manufacturers. I imagine that she consumes a lot of that junk. Obviously she is not on a healthy lifestyle. Recently I have heard that she was afflicted by the flesh eating bacteria. The story is that she had a cut on her leg and her dog licked it. Then the disease began and she needed to have a small part of her leg removed.

The other example I have seen is the woman in the news, Aimee Copeland. Although she is not obese by any means, she is certainly not slim and fit or looking very healthy. She is just living the typical American lifestyle. Someone 24 years old shouldn't have a hard time fighting off an infection if they are in good health.

Obviously there is no way to guarantee that your body will be able to fight off infections but living a healthy lifestyle gives your body the best possible chance. When I was on a SAD diet I sufferred with colds, sore throats and flus every couple of months. Now I rarely get sick, maybe once in 3 years.
