Doug Graham says to have simplicity at the meal and variation throughout the year. I tend to have staples like bananas, dates, lettuce, celery, and tomatoes. I add variation to the staples. I buy in bulk (in boxes) once a week. You can do this at a co-op or at a grocery store. At a grocery store, you have to ask the produce department for the boxes that they unload to supply the shelves. Also, I'll pick up local food from farms.
