Take Comfort Robyn knowing that this is extremely common.
Bear in mind that it is early days and that it takes time for the body
to adjust. Your body did not become this way overnight so it will
take time to return to vibrant health. However with commitment,
practice, perseverance and patient you will reap huge rewards.
Imagine a sink full of dirty water. When you run the tap and top it
up with clean and clear fresh water the sink contents remain dirty,
sluggish, congested and slow to clear. If you haven't guessed it by
now this is an analogy of your intestines. When we eat foods that
move though the digestive tract quickly, such as fresh fruits and
vegetables, they sit on top of slower digesting foods such as meat,
dairy, grains etc.
Familiarising yourself with proper food combining in the early
stages will speed along the process. Check out these links for more

Enough rest, sleep and regular physical activity is vital for
maximum benefits. These will help with digestion and the
elimination of stored toxins. When you wake up each morning
feeling refreshed, re-energised and optimistic about life and not
experiencing fatigue or tiredness then you know you are well
rested. If this is currently not the case for you then it would be wise
to invest in some extra hours in bed.
Depending on the current state of your physical health, yoga,
swimming, cycling and walking are great ways to keep fit, healthy
and active. In particular bouncing on a rebounder for even just a
few minutes a day stimulates the lymphatic system, which is
responsible for the transportation of waste products. Whatever your
activity of choice make sure it's something you enjoy.
Many people use food to numb and suppress painful emotions.
Whilst this may immediately have the desired effect of stemming
the hurt, the hurt still remains and becomes further embedded in
the body. Much like taking an aspirin for a headache.....it may
initially seem to 'cure' the headache but the cause remains and
grows stronger. That more you free up the workload for your
digestive tract the more energy your body will have to expend in
other ares. This energy is often diverted to healing past hurts.
Frequently unresolved issues that we buried deep begin to surface
in order to be released. This is both healthy and natural because it
provides us an opportunity to release them and move forward in
life.
If you haven't already it is worth reading the 80/10/10 book by Dr
Douglas Graham. It provides invaluable information for a smooth
and successful transition.
Support is essential. The more people around who understand,
support and help you the greater chances of a quicker return to
health. If you feel there is no support at home then tap into the
wealth offered online from raw websites, books, or hire a coach
that you feel comfortable and safe with enough to open up to.
Start journalling daily if you don't already as it is a safe way to
release all fears and doubts. Meditation is also highly
recommended to still the mind.
To quote you:
"Logically i know this is not the way to go but it's so ingrained to
be this way it's proving difficult to change"
It's not difficult, it's just different - remember that when faced with
a perceived challenge.
As previous mentioned, this is a great opportunity for you to
embrace life and live it on your terms. Set yourself free from past
limiting thought and beliefs and enjoy all the abundance life has to
offer you.
Peace
Peachy
