| | Subject: | what evidence coconut oil is bad | |

Hello, I'm one week into the 80/10/10. I can vouch from personal experience that nuts are hard to digest and I often had gall bladder pains after too many, so I'm happy to cut down on nuts. I never ate much avocado anyway. BUT I love raw coconut butter and raw coconut oil and have not read of one study that shows that coconut fat is bad for people. I've read of healthy South Pacific tribes like the Kitava who get a whole lot of their calories from saturated coconut fat. I've been adding coconut fat to my fruit smoothies and have had no gall bladder pains at all and somewhat less hunger. It seems to me that coconut and avocado and nuts can't just be lumped together as 'fats are fats' and will all have the same effects in the body. Coconut is saturated, avocado is largely monounsaturated, and nuts and seeds are largely polyunsaturated (which is a delicate oil which I suspect goes rancid when the nuts sit in those bins for too long). Thank you so much, I enjoy your book and your example.
