| | Subject: | I'm always cold, even in the summer months - Dr. Graham, please help! | |
Date: | August 15, 2012 at 3:11 am PST |
I've been 100 percent raw vegan for the past 6 months, mostly high fat until about a week ago. I am always cold however and have a hard time warming up, even if I do, I become cold again very quickly. Extremities especially, but also the rest of my body. I have been eating enough (although I haven't counted my calories) to maintain my weight (I'm 5'5.5" and 121 pounds) which is supposed to be a good weight for my height. I'm pretty active, walking, light dancing, sometimes bicycle rides almost every day. Nothing extremely vigorous (other than occasionally on my bicycle), but more than the average person who works a desk job. I don't know what to do. My boyfriend tells me "maybe this diet can't work for u". But I know better than that! I know I'm eating healthier than ever before in my life. I'm at a loss however, it's summer and I'm wearing flannel pjs, an undershirt, socks and a heavy blanket to bed and it's 18 degrees celsius outside tonight. I live in toronto, Canada and I'm wondering if the quality of fruits dense in calories and iron may be lacking. Could I be iron deficient? Because I was low when I was growing up as a kid. And I do not take supplements for anything, I'm always looking for natural healthful sources. I could really use some insight from Dr. Graham!!!
