Personally, I don't think you can "get away" with anything on 811, any more than you can on any other diet. Without sufficient training, the marathon will not go well. No amount of sleep, no type of food, will make up for lack of training. I agree that recovery and overall sense of energy is vastly improved on 811. If your last long run is 2 weeks out, that's fine. You would likely find that 1 week is enough, but then the taper would be much more steep. Enjoy the training, and the run.
