Subject:         Marathon training modification on 811
Date: August 4, 2012 at 10:47 am PST

I have my first marathon in 4 weeks. Have enjoyed 811 quick recovery, etc.
I have taken some leeway with a traditional schedule, doing increasingly
longer runs every other week rather than every 3, and I run them at
marathon pace instead of "easy." so far that has not proven foolish. I have
another 18-20 next week, and was thinking of doing a hard 13 after that
(two weeks out)...

My question is, how should I modify the taper for 811? I know I don't need a
3 week taper. So two week taper with increased intensity is what I am
thinking.

Any other tips in general, concerning what we can get away with on 811
that would be seen as too risky on a traditional training regimen? I usually
go by how I feel. I do need a rest day after a 15+ long run or an intense
speed workout. But I think I will soon get to the point where I don't.

I have been eating 811 with cooked dinners for a few years and the past
month have had less than 10 cooked dinners. Planning on eating all raw
until the race.
