Just make sure your oranges are fully ripe (as with all of your fruits). In our ancestral home (tropics of Africa) we would not have eaten under ripe fruit unless starving. I have had trouble with digestion and loss of appetite due to eating under ripe navel oranges and tangerines. They should be sugary sweet, not acidic or sour tasting, and soft with possible brown spots (like a banana, but larger) on the skin, which should be easy to peel off. Presence of fruit flies is also a good sign. Green spots are a sign of underripeness, or that the oranges were picked too early.
