You are craving nuts for calories. Instead, eat fruit for calories. Buy your fruit in bulk (by the case, in boxes) so that you are not hungry for nuts. The produce department unloads those boxes and puts the food on the shelf. Those are the boxes you want. I buy from a co-op once a week on Tuesdays and get everything by the case or a split (shared) case. After trying this, retest.
