Thanks for your reply Chris, it has reassured me a little. I am very familiar with what I should be eating and have listened to lots of Doug's talks, especially the perfect health program. I just realised about the oil/salt a bit too late, regardless of how little I was having. Going by the 811 book I need the following;
resting bmi - 231x10=2310 cals
+ 20% per day for chores=462 cals
=2772 cals per day
If i do any exercise I should add 300-600 cals per session, depending on duration & intensity.
I know my body doesnt take well to calorie restricting (mood & sleep especially), so I will have to make it so slight, I don't notice - literally a few bites. I think this will still be hard to get exactly right. I wish I could just go bY Doug's following guidlines;
'eat as much fruit and veg as you care for'
'try and eat a few more bites that you would usually'
'if you are craving sweets or starches or haven't eaten enough fruit.
'if you are craving salty food, you haven't eaten enough vegetables'
I wonder how much of my weight gain is water?
I will see how it goes.
Kate
