Look at chapter 2 of The 80/10/10 Diet book, pages 45 to 46, "Does Fruit Acidify the Cancer Patient's Body?". On page 45, it writes that alkaline minerals predominate in fruits and greens, more in greens than in fruits. On page 46, it writes that cooked foods are acidic. In your first post, you mentioned that bananas do not affect the burning feeling. My guess about Dr. Graham's thinking is that he wants to provide the conditions that will stop the acute symptoms with the consumption of bananas and greens. That way, similar to a water fast, the body will rest and heal itself because the body vectors toward health. Once in a healthy state, you can introduce other fruits. I would include more hours sleep because the body does more repair during sleep. The overall picture is to provide the conditions for health. On a cellular level, you are bathing your cells in the nutritive environment for which the cells are designed. The result of changing the environment is healthy cells. Antoine Béchamp mentioned this in the 1800s. This concept was a rival of Louis Pasteur's germ theory. In the germ theory, it's all about attacking the disease such as what you did with Prevacid. This only treats the symptoms, which is why it will fail. Our approach is to remove the cause, and the symptoms go away.
