If you are a salt eater, you'll need salt on the ride, most likely, especially if the weather is hot. But if you don't normally use salt, salt should not be required on such a ride. I do long events without using salt, and Grant Campbell is a highly successful ultra runner that never consumes salt. Preparing for such a ride should have included lots of practice rides where you tested out the foods that worked best for you. I suggest riding with water bottle(s) filled with dates and water. The water gets sweet, and the dates get soft.
