I find that sea salt will get rid of muscle cramps immediately in an emergency, but it's not a whole food. Celery and other greens are good for supplementing the minerals that are in fruit. Whole food fruit and greens are the best. Your muscles only have a functional storage of fuel, so I would consume as hungry. Your calorie needs are greater than a non-athlete. You can bring blended drinks for convenience of consuming quickly. I would bring a little sea salt in case of severe salt problems.
