Cut the calorie deficit in half, and if that is not sufficient, in half again. You'll continue to lose, but you'll be able to sleep.
Meanwhile, do you exercise at all, Leslie? If not, adding in exercise often makes for better sleep. Of course you would eat sufficiently to counterbalance the fuel used.
