Thanks for providing this forum. I started the 811 program to try and reverse the beginning of diabetes about 3 weeks ago and have been amazed at the change it's made in my weight and overall sense of well being. I'm enthusiastic about how easy this lifestyle is. But two days ago, I woke up with swollen lips and hives. It had been about 7 hours since I had eaten so I didn't associate it with what I ate. I had to take an over- the-counter antihistamine to get through my round of golf. Today, I had a banana smoothie for breakfast and the lip swelling started again. i could not afford the time off that taking an antihistamine represented. Having read that sometimes eating something else helps with allergic reactions, I ate some Ezekiel bread and within a half hour, the symptoms started to subside. I had some mango to eat in the afternoon and started to break out in hives. I was scared to eat any more fruit at the time and had some more toast (I don't usually eat bread but couldn't think of anything else) I normally eat salad for dinner and maybe that would have helped. The hives went away after half an hour again. I cut a watermelon for my family and ate some while I was cutting. Within an hour I started breaking out in hives all over. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening? I've eaten these fruits all my life and have never had any kind of allergic reaction to them. I appreciate any thoughts or ideas. Thanks, Rebecca
