Develop a pre-sleep routine. Turn the lights down. Speak more softly. Change clothing. Do your ablutions. Lock the doors and close the curtains. Drink your evening drink. Whatever the pattern or actions, associate them with falling asleep. Read in bed till your first yawn, then turn out the lights. Like any training, you can train yourself to get into the mindset of falling asleep.
