Cooking has been widespread for way more than 20,000 years.
There's evidence of fire as early as almost 2 million years ago.

A million years ago, or two million years ago, there were no "human
raw societies."

What you would have found were hairy creatures that have since then
been extinct, but look sort of like humans, but were definitely not us.
They would have been smarter than chimps, maybe walked upright,
but they were not close to being "human" yet.
