Are you kidding??? My hubby is about as far from RV as you can get, although since I introduced him to fresh fruit and veg (as opposed to canned) he willingly incorporates them several times per week on his own initiative. But, other than that, I've prepared him 811 raw dishes from time to time and he usually takes a bite and says, "I don't like it," while screwing up his face. Then he either gives it back to me or douses it with condiments. The raw veg sushi I made for us for Valentine's he was much nicer about. He just quietly got up and got out his shoyu and basically drowned each piece before eating. He ate about half and then made himself something else (I can't remember what, but probably fried with cheese and onions and meat!). His main fitness is basketball, heavy manual yardwork, lots of walking, and some basic upper body weight lifting/pull ups type stuff. I bought him a road bike for his birthday two summers ago and he's ridden it with me a handful of times. Hopefully, once he's rehabbed his knee we'll do it more . . . Don't get me wrong, I am SO grateful that he is supportive of my choices.

Anyway, back to the real topic! :) Like I said before, the "datorade" does me for long runs. Like you, I struggled with digestive distress while running (usually starting as soon as a mile in!) pre-811rv. I tried everything, it seemed. Goos, gels, sports drinks, you name it. Bad news. I think it also had to do with my regular eating habits that included a lot of grains (cooked and raw) along with fruit (raw) and veg (cooked and raw) and fish (cooked). I believe the grains were most irritating.

This digestive thing did not go away overnight upon starting with 811rv; it took a while. I highly suggest experimenting until you find what works for YOU. If your marathon isn't until November, time is on your side.

Well wishes to you on your jouney, Kaki. :)
