| Subject: | do we really need to eat vegetables? |
|
Date: | June 18, 2012 at 1:07 pm PST |
my background:
- became vegetarian a year ago
- vegan 3 months ago
- 811 lifestyle last wednesday
i've been eating only fruit so far and about an ounce of
nuts or seeds every other day
i do know that on the 811 diet we should eat about a large
salad every day however i (like most people i suppose) don't
particularly like the taste of plain vegetables like
lettuce, cabbage or celery. the obvious solution would be
then to put on a dressing over the salad right?
i tried making some of the dressings on the 811 diet book
but i really could not even smell them, the thing is i never
liked any dressing, spice, anything added whatsoever, ever
when i ate pasta / meat ... i preferred it just plain as
is.
about blending: for eg. i loooooooooove bananas and don't
mind eating them until i hurt (though i never do it as i
know it is bad) but if i simply blend them (just the bananas
without adding anything) i can't even have the 1st spoon of
it, it just tastes dreadful, worse even is mixing them with
any other thing. the same applies to all other fruits i've
ever tried.
now, i know that we need to eat the vegetables because the
fruits alone are unlikely to provide all necessary minerals.
so what can i do since i don't seem to be able to eat salad
in any way.
can nuts / seeds provide me with enough minerals???
would eating larger quantities of fruits do it???
please help me - i really want to be healthy!!!
