Certainly I am not seeking a diagnosis here but I am having some severe back pain. I don't know where it came from. Some possibilities are:

I bicycle to work every day, so I might have pulled a muscle when riding.

I started using a backpack to carry my food in and often carry as much as 20 to 25 lbs of oranges or other fruit in it.

I had (still sort of have) a cough that lasted over 6 weeks. It seems to be subsiding a little now as the weather is much warmer.

I'd like to give my body a chance to rid itself of this pain but at the moment I am not able to take a long break from work. I need to stick it out at least until August.

Short of a total rest and fast, what are other ways to give my body the resources it needs to heal this?

My diet is quite simple, bananas and oranges make up the majority with salads in the evenings. I also eat peaches, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, melons, grapes, and some corn. Usually one variety of fruit per meal, sometimes I blend orange juice with berries.

My exercise is basically the ride to and from work on bicycle. It's about 7.5 miles each way, so a total of 15 miles a day.

I get lots of sunshine as it's sunny here almost every day.

I try to get to sleep from about 8:00pm and wake up at 6:00am with several bathroom breaks during the night.

Are there exercises or other means to correct back pain without medications?
