Dear Dr. Doug,

I live in La Paz, Bolivia which is 3600 ft above sea level. I have been high raw for 18 months and recently gone 100%.

I was just wondering if you think living so high up could be damaging for my health given that air is an important factor.

I have been here for 4 years so I am used to it, regarding breathing etc. They say that running in these altitudes makes you a better runner at sea level locations, due to lung expansion or respiratory improvement. Is this true?

I would have thought a lack of oxygen would only hinder you body.

Thanks

Ana
