I hear you on the bananas! I used to HATE bananas. I was especially repulsed by the smell. Whenever my boss ate a banana in his office, I could smell it all the way in my office and it was just horrendous to me to have to endure that all afternoon.
So, now I am amazed that I can eat up to 10 bananas for a meal and have a case ripening at any given time (during months where other fruits are not plentiful). I no longer gag at the smell.
A week or two ago I got the chance to try my first organic Jamaican Reds. 'Til then I had only had Cavendishes or plaintains. What a treat!
Anyway, Denae, I just want to encourage you to hang in there while your mangoes ripen. For me, I'm really looking forward to melons! :)
So grateful to the abundance we get throughout the season. :)
