If you read born to run, they tell a bit of a different story about endurance hunting, moreso from point of view of african plains. seem really hard to track an animal down canyon cliffs in the sierra madre where tarahumara live. i thought the trakeaway was there is no way to have transportation in the canyon so running was the de facto way to get around, the tarahumara have realtively good shelter in there so survived in their lifestyle while those around moderned up. I could maybe think the bigger takeaway is that kind of endurance was common amongst pre moden civilizationa
