We are host to tens of thousands of different types of bacteria. The numbers of each type and ratios of one to another vary with the substances, influences, conditions, and forces to which we subject ourselves. When we live healthfully, the "right" bacteria prevail. When we eat dead, decaying, or "foods" destroyed in other ways through cooking, when we eat indigestible combinations of foods, when we deprive ourselves of sleep, sunlight, exercise, emotional poise, or other essentials for health, the bacterial colonies are affected, adversely affecting our health still further.
